Retailers of all sizes have always been interested in using promotional pictures and logos to enhance & “brand”
their receipts and for printing money-off coupons, but have been understandably reticent with the technology.
Star has therefore devised an easy-to-use function to enable retailers to add coupons, logos, promotional images, vouchers or even advertising banners
to receipts quickly and cost effectively using the Star TSP700 thermal printer.
No basic changes are needed to your software, just...
- Load a coupon or logo on to the TSP700.
This will literally take 4 minutes using the new Star wizard driven utility.
- Add a character and a number (e.g. #2) to the end of the product description on your database to automatically “trigger” the coupon or logo every time that product is
sold.
Each number corresponds to a certain logo / graphic loaded onto the printer, which will then be triggered to print – the special character and number themselves do not
appear on the actual receipt.
The use of the Star AutoLogo™ feature simply involves changing the product description, which is part of routine database maintenance. Promotions can then be quickly actioned
or logos simply assigned by internal staff – no expensive software changes are required. All graphics can, of course, be sent by modem / network etc. for national campaigns.
AutoLogo™ simply lets you add up to 15 coupons, logos, promotional images or vouchers to the bottom of your restaurant, bar or kitchen
receipt without any expensive software changes or complicated set up procedures.
And what’s more, you can easily change them on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis to respond directly to your market.

All you need is a basic computer software package, a TSP700 and your imagination. The TSP700 produces high quality receipts with full graphics capability at a superfast
speed of 180mm per second. And it’s also available with a splash proof cover, power switch covers and vertical wall mount kit –perfect for any hospitality application!

Impact printers have always been capable of printing a duplicate copy for each transaction, which could be used for
store audit purposes. Now retailers can take advantage of this feature when using thermal printers without having to invest in expensive software changes.
Star has developed a unique Raster CopyDriver enabling each receipt to be copied as it is printed at the Point of Sale, which can then be stored in the
till for audit purposes. This copy receipt is clearly marked “Second Copy – Void” to distinguish it from the original and can be printed as a “run” at the end of day or
with every receipt.
Alternatively, the data can be captured at the Point of Sale once each transaction is completed, thereby creating a basic “electronic journal” which can
then be stored on a central controlling PC ready to be printed at a later date. Now daily transactions can be printed when required, without the need to store large quantities
of records for tax purposes.
This is available as a Raster Copy Driver for the Star TSP600, TSP700, TSP800 and TUP900 family of thermal printers running in Star Mode on
Windows™ platform.
This facility is much more sophisticated on the new TSP100 futurePRNT and is incorporated into the Printer Properties software with additional features
such as multiple language facility for 2nd copy “Void” text and word searchable entries.
